Report -

MELKSHAM AND DISTRICT HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION

Our first meeting of 2018 was held on Thursday 18th January at Melksham Assembly Hall.

80 members and guests were present to hear Tony Fivash present a slide show titled “Edgar Tuckers Photographic memories of Melksham”. Edgar collected a large number of slides of life in and around Melksham during the 1950’s and 60’s, before the town was redeveloped.

This brought back memories for those who lived in the town then and for recent town residents, most were surprised how the town had changed over the years.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday February 15th. When Judy and Chris Rouse will present a slide show titled “ The Railway Navvy and his working life”.

All welcome, Association members free. Guests £3
